After graduating from BYU in 1979 magna cum laude and from the BYU Law School in 1982 as Lead Article Editor of the Utah Bar Journal, Jeff Salisbury has practiced law for approximately thirty years, including as a partner with a medium sized San Francisco Bay Area firm, and over the past fifteen years as a sole practitioner in Eugene, Oregon. He takes pride in offering quality legal services on a cost-effective basis. He uses his experience and energy to carefully evaluate client needs and tailor solutions to meet those needs head-on. As to investment dispute resolution services, Mr. Salisbury is deeply experienced in bringing and defending securities arbitration and litigation cases, having handled over 125 as a lawyer, arbitrator and mediator. His prior professional experience as a Certified Financial Planner® (resigned) and as an investment and life and annuity insurance broker provide valuable insight into pressing and fending-off these cases successfully. He is also experienced in a wide variety of general commercial litigation fields, including business, professional errors and omissions, real estate and insurance.
As to advisory and transactional services, Mr. Salisbury assists clients in establishing comprehesive will and trust based estate plans. He provides such fundamental estate planning services as preparing powers of attorney, guardianships, conservatorships and advanced directives, and he performs estate administration (probate) services. He helps clients start and maintain corporations, partnerships, and limitd liability companies (LLCs). He guides them in preparing and reviewing a wide variety of contracts, including employment agreements, stock option agreements, vendor contracts, and service agreements. He protects businesses with such tools as employee manuals, trade secret safeguards, name and trademark registrations, confidentiality agreements, and liability releases. He also assists clients in the purchase or sale of their business and commercial and residential real estate interests. He prepares and reviews commercial and residential leases and option agreements.
Mr. Salisbury’s primary goals in practicing law are to properly identify and evaluate client needs and to pursue an undeviating course in satisfying those needs. To help accomplish this, he works carefully with clients in estimating case costs and benefits – both from time and money standpoints – as well as in making strategic decisions. Mr. Salisbury’s charges are reasonable, and he is open-minded about performance based compensation, flat fee pricing, flexible retainers and alternative billing approaches, consistent with client preferences, professional ethics, and the work performed.
Mr. Salisbury is happily married and has four sons. He enjoys backpacking, golf and fishing in the Oregon great outdoors.
